This place is like an institution in Bluff Park. It's been there forever and everyone loves it. The sandwiches are very large, and very popular and they've got a wide variety of options to suit just about anyone's tastes. They aren't trying to be artsy in their presentation or to wow you with the latest culinary trends, but they are serving big ol sandwiches that you can get quickly and that will fill you up for a decent price.

Besides the sandwiches they've got some wine, beer, spices, sauces, and a variety of other goods that might interest you if you're looking for speciality items that you may need for cooking at home, and they've also got a butcher section where you can choose from a good range of quality meats.

Dine in or take out lunch, an interesting selection of grocery items and specials on large quantities of meat for those of you who want to stock up and be ready to grill at a moment's notice. Definitely worth stopping in and checking them out.

Mr. P's is one of those restaurants that you forget about, but once you eat it, you make sure to add it to one of your top restaurants. I tried one of their corned beef sandwiches, I dont typically remember the names because their menu is so extensive. Don't let this intimidate you because whatever you get YOU WILL ENJOY IT. Trust me! The meats are top notch and their simplicity is what makes these sandwiches stand out so much! They have a small combo menu that gives you a drink and a side on a smaller sized menu, so make sure you look through that!

I have lived in the Hoover area for over a year and a half now and I finally got to come to Mr. P's for lunch! Why it has taken me so long I have no idea.

I love the layout of the place.....old and homey; place your order at the counter and they bring it to you. There are pictures of Alabama and Auburn Sports and other local Birmingham sports teams on the walls; there are sections to buy their meats and sauces as well as another section to get cold beer and also wine. I've heard their meat is stellar( steaks, sausage, etc).

Seating is not large, so I would pick an early or late lunch to eat here. I ordered the Mr. P's favorite, which has smoked turkey and melted cheese with honey mustard. It was good but not what I was expecting. The potato salad was great and that bread though....oh man so warm and soft and full of flavor. I'd like to try other sandwiches on the menu soon and I will definitely be coming back!

So, I heard so much about P's Butcher shop.  Just had to go with my lovely bride and try it out.  My sandwich was a warm sliced ribeye, cheese and dipping sauce.   Yummy.  See all the reviews on this sandwich. My wife got an excellent smoked turkey & cheese warm sandwich which was also excellent.

The real reason I went to "P's" was the butcher shop.  I really don't like the meats at the local supermarkets.  Also, I remember growing up with a butcher custom cutting your meats. This place made such a good impression, I am going back in just a while to get a couple of steaks for dinner.

"P's" and other places like it are what makes a town, place or city unique.  It simple does certain thinks really great. Try it.

I've wanted to go here for a while now.  Just seemed fun to go to a butcher shop as you just don't see them much any more!  Plus I wanted a brisket to grill and they are so hard to find in the grocery!
I purchased a whole brisket so I could cut it the sizes I wanted at home. Plus a package. The one I got was #12 which included 2 chicken breast, 2 chicken and broccoli (it was ok not a lot of flavor), 2really nice ribeye, ground sirloin and a rack of ribs.  I think it was 59.00 for the package.
The brisket was black angus. It was divided and we smoked 1/2.  Turned out fantastic!   Not a lot of fat.  Tender, juicy.  Could ask for better!
They seem a little pricy but we enjoyed all we got and will definitely go back for brisket cut!
